Tour the ORS Recycling Operation

If you have wondered why Orcas Recycling Services (ORS) recycles the way they do, come join one of our twice-monthly tours to learn the “why” and the “how”.  Our volunteer docent, Duff, will be conducting tours again this year, and now in 2024, he will be able to include the baler for cardboard, aluminum, and paper.  And if you have never seen our glass crusher—Big Blue—in action, that will be demonstrated, too.  The dates for tours are listed below.

If you choose to sign up in advance, email “duff@exchangeorcas.org” and he will confirm with you.  You can also just show up on the specified dates.  In both cases, please arrive a few minutes early so Duff can begin promptly at 9:00AM.  The tour will last about 60-90 minutes, and you will see all the parts of the ORS operation, with the tour ending at The Exchange for some browsing and shopping.  See you at the Z-wall.​
