OUTER ISLANDS – Henry, Pearl, Waldron, Johns, and Stuart Islands
As part of the Great Islands Clean-Up, the SJC Department of Environmental Stewardship and the Humpback Hauler will be collecting litter from Henry, Pearl, Waldron, Johns, and Stuart Islands on Tuesday, September 22.
**Registration required: If you’re on one of these islands and want to participate, please register ahead of time so we can plan.**
What we’ll take: Litter picked up from beaches and roadways only. Please, no household or private trash, and no hazardous waste.
How to get ready: Bag small items. Big items can go unbagged.
Have something large? Give us a heads-up so we can plan for space. We may ask for a hand loading heavy pieces.
Bring litter to your island’s Humpback Hauler landing spot. No spot set yet? Reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
Can’t make it on the 22nd? Drop litter off early, as long as it’s above the high tide line.
Questions and to Register: Contact Katie Fleming at katief@sanjuancountywa.gov or 360-762-5821.
