More Home Composting Success

With four composting classes behind us and 85 compost bins passed out, we are certain this is just what our island community has been wanting. Participants were taught how to successfully compost through many examples, tips and tricks that can save time and frustration. Participants also left with their own ‘FreeGarden Earth’ compost bin to start putting their knowledge to work.

We were able to purchase these bins wholesale and then passed the savings on to participants for just $55 (a $135+ value).

Our intention is to get more folks successfully composting at home so we can keep food scraps, garden and yard materials out of the waste stream. By doing this, we avoid the creation of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas that is negatively affecting our climate and environment, and instead are creating high quality compost and keeping a valuable resource here on the island.
